So, this guy is banned until 3001, but that other guy who was drunk and killed a kid only gets three years in jail?

I dunno, I’d think jail is worse than not being able to get a driver’s license.
But that’s just me.

I mean, I think they both deserve jail, but I don’t see why you wouldn’t ban all drunk drivers from driving for a millennia.

What did he get all the points for? Drunk driving, caught 3 times.

Yeah, life still goes on with public transportation. Jail time, not so much

I was expecting him to be a “Freeman on the land” and talking about his “right to travel”. The story took a surprising turn for me.

It won’t stop him. After all he was already banned from driving when he was caught, driving.

Mr Davie says he’s never had a road accident in his life.
He maintains he’s a victim of WA’s mandatory sentencing laws, which banned him for the extraordinary term after three drink driving offences.
Three? Whether or not he’s actually wrecked is irrelevant. Drunk driving is the root problem here, and is absolutely a good enough reason to disqualify him as a driver.
Unlucky
Luck has nothing to do with it. Except maybe that he got caught before crashing into someone. In which case, he’s lucky , and so is everyone else in his town that didn’t get hit by him.

taking away someone’s license doesn’t prevent them from driving.
